Will Pope Benedict XVI be arrested in the UK?

Post  Aught3 on Sun Apr 11, 2010 11:47 pm

Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens have asked a human rights lawyer to produce a case against the Pope over his involvement with the Catholic rape scandal. It's hoped he can be arrested under the concept of universal jurisdiction which usually applies on serious cases of crimes against humanity. I thought that as the head of his own state the Pope would have immunity but apparently the Vatican doesn't count as an officially recognised state.

No, he probably won't. Good idea though.
