Thinking Allowed - BBC sociology on religion
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00m1nlh
This is a link to a BBC radio programme on sociology, Thinking Allowed, and the specific episode about how religion is correlated to insecurity. (paper discussed originally published by Dr T Rees in 'The Journal of Religion in Society')
Pretty interesting in some of it's results. The thing that stood out to me is the correlation between increased inequality and religiousity - not exactly surprising at face value - but the crucial fact being that this increase is not just in the lower socio-economic spectrum, but also in the higher.
The paper is the first one discussed in the programme, so just click and listen if you can (not 100% sure if it works outside the UK).
I'd be very interested to hear any thoughts on the programme.
