Adam Savage, of Mythbusters fame, has stated that Discovery Channel will not allow them to do any kind of religion myths, UFO's, astrology, ghosts, etc. He said he'd love to do those kind of things, but it's basically in their contract. They have to stay in that "safe" area of urban legend.

I can semi-understand religion but why not UFOs? Even most people are skeptical of things like UFOs, aren't they?

If the mythbusters debunked UFOs and ghost that'd screw over a lot of Discovery programming, wouldn't it?

You have to remember that they've only got an hour. Isn't it an hour show? Anyway, they've only got a short time to debunk a theory or stunt or idea, so they have to take on things that are simple and easy to test.

Also, things that blow up.
